No-show protection Ready at launch

Stop paying for empty chairs

A no-show costs you the cut and the slot you could have filled. dibbo cuts no-shows before they happen, and a deposit covers you when they still do.

Cancel up to 24 hours before for a full refund of your deposit. After that, or if you don’t show, the shop keeps it.

What a no-show really costs

When a client doesn’t show, you lose the price of the cut and the time you held for it. On a busy Saturday you also lose the regular who wanted that slot and went somewhere else.

Most no-shows aren’t on purpose. People forget, or plans change and it feels awkward to text their barber. The fix is making it easy to confirm or move, and making it cost something to disappear.

How it works

  1. 1

Pick the services that need a deposit

A fixed amount or a percentage, only where a no-show hurts, like a long cut and beard or a Saturday slot. Quick cuts can stay free to book.

  2. 2

    Set your refund window

For example, 24 hours. Cancel before it and the client gets the deposit back. Cancel inside it, or don’t show, and it stays with you.

  3. 3

    Set a cancellation cutoff

After it, the booking link won’t let clients cancel or change online, so a last-minute change has to go through you.

  4. 4

    Let reminders do the rest

A reminder the day before, with a link to confirm or reschedule. When moving is easy, fewer people just vanish.

  5. 5

    Mark the no-shows

Mark it on the client’s page. Next time they book, you’ll see their history.

Free tool: Write your cancellation and deposit rules: a bio line, booking-page text and a sign for the counter.

Questions

Is keeping a deposit the same as a cancellation fee?
It works like one, and it’s collected up front, so there’s nothing to chase. Clients see your refund window before they pay. Cancel before it and they get it back. Cancel inside it, or don’t show, and it stays with you.
Where does the deposit money go?
To your own Stripe account, paid out to your bank. dibbo takes no cut. Stripe charges its normal card fee.
Can I charge a no-show fee without taking a deposit?
Not yet. Saving a card at booking and charging a fee you approve after a no-show is planned, with no date yet. Until then, a deposit is how you protect a slot.
Won’t deposits put clients off?
You choose which services need one. Put a deposit on the services and times where a no-show hurts most, and leave quick cuts free to book.
