dibbo
For chair renters

You rent the chair. The book is yours.

Your own booking link in your bio, so clients stop asking “you free Thursday?” in your DMs. Sign up as your own business and your clients stay yours, even if you move chairs.

  • Your own link, services, prices and deposits
  • The shop owner can’t see your clients
  • No new-client fees, no commission

Opening to a small group first. The price isn’t set yet; it’s set before we open to everyone.

Two ways to work

Your own book, or the shop’s

Every barber in a shop can work one of two ways. Which one you’re on decides who your clients belong to, so pick it on purpose.

For most renters

Your own book

  • You sign up as your own business, with your own link, services, prices and deposits.
  • Your clients are yours. The shop owner can’t see them, and you can’t see the shop’s.
  • Your book belongs to your business, not to the shop. Move chairs and it’s still yours.

Best if you bring your own following.

For employees

On the shop’s book

  • You join the shop’s dibbo as one of its barbers. The shop sets up the services and prices.
  • You see only your own clients and your own day. The owner sees every client in the shop.
  • If you leave, your login ends that day, and clients booked through the shop stay on the shop’s book.

Best for employees and commission barbers.

Rent chairs out?

Renters on their own book keep their clients private, from you too. Barbers you put on your shop’s book are yours, and you see every client. Your shop doesn’t have to be on dibbo for a renter to use it, and at launch a renter’s own link isn’t listed on your shop’s booking page. Send this page to your renters.

What’s ready

What you get at launch, and next

Ready at launch

  • Your booking link, for your bio
  • Deposits or full payment when they book
  • Confirmations and day-before reminders
  • Cancellation cutoffs and no-show marks
  • Walk-ins and blocked time
  • Client pages with notes and visit history
  • An email when someone books

Coming next

  • Import your client list from a spreadsheet
  • Download your whole client list any time
  • Rebook messages to regulars who are overdue
  • Phone bookings: put a client in the book yourself
  • Texts from your own number
No-shows and deposits

When it’s your chair, a no-show is your money

You pay rent whether the chair’s full or not. Put a deposit on the services where an empty slot hurts, and let reminders do the chasing.

  • Take a deposit only on the services you pick, like a long cut and beard
  • Set a refund window, like 24 hours. Cancel before it and the client gets the deposit back. Cancel after it, or don’t show, and you keep it
  • Reminders go out the day before, with a link to confirm or reschedule
  • Mark a no-show and it stays on their client page

Deposits go through your own Stripe account to your bank. dibbo takes no cut; Stripe charges its normal card fee. Separately, you can set a cancellation cutoff: after it, the link won’t let clients cancel or change online.

Switching from DMs

From “you free Thursday?” to booked

You don’t have to move everyone in one day. Keep answering DMs, just with your link.

On another app now? Run both. They don’t sync, so block off time in dibbo for bookings still on the old app.

  1. 1

    Set up

Add your services, prices and hours. Connect Stripe if you want deposits.

  2. 2

Put the link in your bio

Then text it to your regulars from your own phone.

  3. 3

    Answer DMs with the link

When someone asks “you free Thursday?”, send the link. They pick an open time themselves.

  4. 4

    Book walk-ins in dibbo too

So your client list builds with every cut, not only the ones who booked online.

  5. 5

    Bring the rest over

Importing your client list from a spreadsheet comes after launch. Until then, every booking builds your list.

Questions renters ask

Something else? Email hello@dibbo.io.

What happens to my clients if I move shops?
On your own book, nothing changes. It’s your business, not the shop’s, so your link and your clients stay with you. On a shop’s book it’s the other way round: when you leave, your login ends that day and clients booked through the shop stay on the shop’s book.
Can the shop owner see my clients?
Not if you sign up as your own business. Your clients are private to you, and you can’t see the shop’s either. If you join the shop’s book instead, the owner sees every client in the shop.
Does my shop have to use dibbo?
No. You sign up as your own business, and barbers in the same shop can use different apps. At launch, your own link isn’t listed on the shop’s booking page.
Do I need my own Stripe account?
Only if you want deposits or online payment. On your own book, you connect your own Stripe account during setup, and Stripe pays out to your bank. dibbo takes no cut; Stripe charges its normal card fee.
What does it cost?
The price isn’t set yet. We set it before we open to everyone. There’s no commission, and no fee for any client, new or regular.
Will dibbo bring me new clients?
No, and that’s on purpose. There’s no directory, so we never send your clients to someone else either. New heads come from your chair, your Instagram and word of mouth. dibbo makes it easy for them to book.

Your chair. Your link. Your clients.

Put your link in your bio and let clients book themselves. We’re opening to a small group first.
